Illustration Friday "Green"

I have this weird tendency to link images of food with giant monsters attacking cities. I think in a previous life I was a producer of shlocky horror films.

If you like this image and want it as your computer desktop, Send me a nice e-mail and I’ll send you back a 760 x 1280 image.

All images are © David J. Billings. Please don’t use it for anything but your own personal enjoyment. If you do enjoy it, let me know.

I like your texture... Good job

I'm enjoying it, I'm letting you know.

"I also thought of an alien ship in the background releasing other kinds of fruit into the city."

Man, the stories! Or perhaps this is a good pear turned (mutated) bad. A justice league of vegetables will have to do something. Or the mango who loved him will sacrifice herself to the same gamma rays to become giant and subdue him before the army gets there.

When will fruits learn not to meddle with gamma radiation?

It really is a good illustration, the colors particularly. There's a Terry Gilliam-ness to the shading on the pear's arms.

Thanks again for the comments, All! I've been clicking around since then and noticed that I'm in very good company. I'm surrounded by amazing artwork. Who knew?

I can't wait to check out next week's Illustration Friday and see what shows up.

    Thanks, everyone!

As usual, I feel that I could keep adding to this illo over time.

I also thought of an alien ship in the background releasing other kinds of fruit into the city.

Then again, this leaves more to the imagination.

studio lolo: Ha! I was hoping someone would catch the sign. :)

This one is a goodie. Then again I like pears. And what's better than a giant pear? Well, maybe a giant pear coffee cake. Or braised pear with a honey star-anise sauce. Yum. Yum. Yum.

    Nicely done.
